New Camera

Hi everyone. I figured out how to add an image to a post! How about that?

I promise I won't often veer off the topics you put in the subtitle, Abe, but thought I'd tell whoever from the family that visits here, that my new Fujifilm FinePix J50 came in the mail yesterday. I'm not sure how long it sat on the porch in the cold, but I let it 'thaw' out for a few hours and then charged the battery overnight and tried it out quickly early this morning. It looks like it's going to be WONDERFUL. I'll read the booklet after I accomplish my assigned task for today which is to deal with this workroom/office upstairs. I'm not sure who all saw this room over the holidays, but as you may already know, I've let this space get totally out of control and it's time to deal with it. So far I've uncovered: something that was to be in Heather's gift ( errata for a knitting book I got her ), a holiday card that never got opened, and a bill from Target card that is now overdue. Heaven knows what else I'll find. Jeepers. So, to that effort I now return.

I have no idea how I got here. How do I select a thread, or topic, or whatever to read or comment on?

How do I start one?

Dad, the most recent posting will always be on the 'home page' of the blog (blog.siemsen.us), with previous posts showing below that. (It's reverse chronological.)
You already know how to comment on a post, because that's what you did here!
It's worth noting that although they look very similar, there are two different 'page types' in the blog... a 'list' page that shows multiple recent postings but no comments (the home page is like this), and a 'post-detail' page that shows just a single post and all of its associated comments. (The page you're looking at now is a detail page.)
To make a NEW post, rather than comment on an existing one, use the controls in the blue 'blogger' bar at the top of every page. You must be signed-in to post, so if you are not signed in, you can sign in from the "SIGN IN" link on the right side of that blue bar. Once you ARE signed in, you'll see a 'NEW POST' link in the blue bar as well. Click that and it will take you to a simple form to write and publish your post.
Feel free to give me a call if you are still confused. I talked Mom through some of it yesterday afternoon. It takes a few minutes to get used to how it all works, but once you're used to it it's fairly easy.

Mom and I just talked and she helped me figure it out, too. Thanks. Well, I've subverted the New Camera post into blog navigational confusion.

Mom, don't feel restricted by my 'subtitle topics.' Post about whatever you like! If we find that we actually use this thing so much that we want to separate different topic types, we can worry about that later. :)
